Communications

International airport (Gustavo Rojas Pinilla) located at 1.7 km from the port area, well paved roads.

Customs

The Customs Authorities now stipulate that:
A) All cargo on board a vessel, with destination Colombia must be manifested.
B) The manifest (cargo/freight) together with freighted copies of Bills of Lading must be given to Customs Authorities before vessel's arrival. (24 HRS PRIOR TO)
C) Cargo not covered by manifest may not be discharged. If discharged ITwill be immediately confiscated by Customs.

Violations of the aforementioned regulations can result in fines of up to 200 per cent. of the cargo value as determined by Customs Authorities. Similar fines will be levied for discrepancies found in the cargo manifest as well as for short-landed or overlanded cargoes, in cases where fault lies with the Carrier and no reasonable explanation is provided. When the cargo/freight manifest does not comply with all the requirements (as established by Customs Authorities) the carrier will be fined.

As per admiralty chart 1511
Max draft allowed 4.7 mters sw plus tide.

ETA: 120 hrs and dayly.

Harbour

The port has 4 berthing positions, depending on vessel LOA:
420 meter long pier with an authorized draft of 7 meter in SALT water.

Pilotage

Pilotage and tugs are compulsory for all ships of more than 200 tons. Both available during daylight only.

Pilot will board at pilot station abt 1.5 nm from the port

Working hours

Port operation in a SHINC basis 24/7 operations (entrance and departure only durind daylight time)
Holidays: Work possible if requested prior to arrival.

Watchmen

At all public Colombian terminals , named Sociedades Portuarias it is not compulsory to have private watchmen on board.

Tides and Currents

Currents
Tides vary from 30 to 40 cm.
